The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon were created in the fallout of the first Crusade. Eventually their long name became what we now know them as, the Knights Templar. This group were the first warrior monks of the western world and existed for nearly two centuries during the middle ages.
Their primary concern was the safety of pilgrims in the Holy Lands. It was this order that innovated many ideas of what could be called modern banking, and who fought many of the pivotal battles of the Crusades. However, on Friday the 13th 1312 the order was disbanded by Pope Clement, and a great number of the Knights murdered.
This is the Royal Knights Templar Shield with the Seal of the Order in the center of it.
