Description

It is alleged that the first Bowie knife was designed by Jim Bowie's brother, Rezin, and then made by a local blacksmith from an old file. However, it would not be until that Sandbar fight of 1827 that the knife would reach notoriety.

During the fight Bowie was shot in the hip, stabbed in the chest with a sword, and hit with a pistol in the head so hard that the pistol but broke. However, at the end of the fight Bowie was still standing and killed or injured five men. Later in Texas Bowie was attacked by three men hired to kill him. He killed all three men with only his knife. After this incident every man in Texas wanted a Bowie style knife.

The blade of the knife is 440 polished stainless steel. The blade is the classic Bowie design with a curved false edge. The Guard of the knife is steel with a solid design. The knife is full tang with the steel tang running through the handle. The handle is polished wood. The sheath is leather with a belt loop, snap safety, and a leather thong leg tie.

The knife is heavy duty and built to last.
